Legal
Effective date: 1 April 2026
By accessing or using ChronoForensics (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.
Subject to payment of applicable fees and compliance with these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use ChronoForensics for lawful purposes.
Per-case licence (Professional)
A perpetual licence for one named case, identified by its Case ID. The licence is bound to that case and cannot be transferred to a different case.
Annual Seat licence
An annual licence for one named examiner (identified by email address) covering unlimited cases during the licence period. The licence is personal and non-transferable.
Basic (unlicensed) mode
ChronoForensics may be used without a licence for evidence import, timeline viewing, and search. Presentation, annotation, exhibit, and export features require a licence.
You may not:
ChronoForensics provides SHA-256 integrity hashing and an audit trail as tools to support chain of custody. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy and admissibility of evidence presented using the Service. We make no warranty that the Service meets the requirements of any particular jurisdiction or court.
Licence fees are charged at the point of purchase. All prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT will be added at the applicable rate for UK customers.
Per-case licences are non-refundable once the licence file has been delivered and installed. Annual Seat licences may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if no licence files have been generated under that seat. For refund requests, contact us at legal@chronoforensics.co.uk.
A 7-day trial licence may be issued for a single case at our discretion. Trial licences include all Professional features and expire automatically. No payment is required during the trial period. We reserve the right to decline or revoke trial licence requests.
ChronoForensics and all related software, documentation, and materials are our exclusive property. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of intellectual property to you. Case data you create using the Service remains yours.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit or loss of data.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
